Omorovicza's Complexion Perfector BB Cream

Even more than with skincare, I am super picky when it comes to makeup bases. Perhaps its because my skin is so temperamental day-to-day, but I have always had the hardest time finding a base that checks off my long list of boxes (natural coverage, lightweight, won't clog my pores, hydrating, won't stick to dry patches, skincare ingredients, sun protection, etc., etc.). So when I do finally find a base I like, I become quite loyal to it — which has been the case with my newest addition, Omorovicza's Complexion Perfector BB Cream*.

While a BB Cream seems like a simple solution to my specific makeup concerns, finding one that had ingredients I could get on board with was surprisingly difficult. While Omorovicza isn't 100% natural, they are free from synthetic fragrances, colors and parabens, as well as being infused with a plethora of vitamins, essential oils and some truly fabulous natural ingredients. This was all more than enough to pique my interest, and when I found out it was also free of silicones I knew I had found the base for me.

So let's start with the coverage. For a BB Cream, I was surprised at just how much coverage this provides. While it looks totally natural on the skin, it gives a light-to-medium amount of coverage that can easily be built up without getting at all cake-y. It plays well with other makeup for a dewy, satin finish, thanks in no small part to the addition of ruby crystals to the formula. These crystals add a natural looking sheen to my complexion without ever looking like a disco ball. There's just the perfect amount for a fresh-faced glow that lasts well into a long day. It also provides SPF 20, thanks to mineral sunscreen, which was an important factor I knew I needed to add to my routine.

Along with all of that, it also has some fantastic skincare ingredients that make it worth its eye-watering price. Hungarian Thermal Water, as well as squalane and apricot kernel oils are just a few pieces that make up this truly dreamy base. What I love so much about these skincare additions is that, even though I do where a serum underneath, I find that my skin always looks better after removing this at the end of the night. It's the definition of a skincare/makeup hybrid, which is what I look for in a base product.

When Omorovicza first made this product, it only came in one shade, which is the one I am currently using. I've found it on various websites with different names (Light, Natural, Original) which is kind of confusing, but it's a neutral shade that can adapt to a variety of light skin tones, including my own pale complexion. That said, while this works well for my winter skin it definitely would be too pale for my summer tan. The only other shade the BB Cream comes in is Medium, which also has neutral undertones and can adapt to light-to-medium skin tones. I already purchased the Medium for myself for later on in the year because I know I'll need it as soon as I get a bit of color.

The lack of shades (as well as the astronomical price) is one major gripe I have with this otherwise wonderful product. Medium would, at best, stretch to adapt to medium skin tones, which leaves a lot of my fellow beauty-loving ladies without a shade choice. I would love to see Omorovicza add several more shades, because right now the two options are more than a little limiting.

All in all, if you can find a shade that works for you than I would absolutely recommend this gem. While super price-y, you get a lot of product for what you're paying, and if you look at it as a skincare/makeup hybrid you can truly get a good amount out of it.

Have you guys tried anything from Omorovicza? Other than the BB, I've tried out their Cleansing Balm and loved it, so I'd love to hear your thoughts/recommendations!
