Hynt Beauty's Duet Perfecting Concealer

So you've maybe noticed that I've mentioned my problem with my dark circles a time or two (or, you know, a million). While I try to make a conscious effort not to focus on "flaws" when writing for this blog (because I see beauty as a way to enhance, not cover), I'd be lying if I said I wasn't self-conscious about that aspect of my appearance. Since the circles are hereditary, they never go away, and are especially evident in the winter when my skin becomes nearly translucent. I don't particularly care about going through the trouble of covering them up on days where I'm just hanging around the house or running errands, but when it comes to going out (to work, an event, etc.) I do try and cover them up, if for no other reason than I hate people constantly asking if I'm tired.

While I can totally get away with a bit of my beloved RMS Beauty Un-Cover Up for lighter coverage days, there are some times when I need a little more oomph. And that's where my newest concealer addition comes in, the Hynt Beauty Duet Perfecting Concealer*. I've been reading rave reviews about this gem for awhile now, so I was more than a little curious to try it out for itself.

My first impression when using it was how thick this formula is — it's unbelievably pigmented, but when they recommend using a small amount they truly mean it. While this thickness helps keep the formula in place all day long (a huge plus!), I did find it a little hard to blend on the very dry skin underneath my eyes. So what I ended up doing was actually combining a tiny drop of the concealer with a bit of the amazingly hydrating May Lindstrom The Blue Cocoon, a hack that ended up doing just the trick. While this oily concoction does cut down a bit on the overall opaqueness of the formula, I find that it's still highly pigmented and applied much easier. I usually use my fingers to apply, going in afterwards for a Beauty Blender to make sure everything is blended in well.

The result is great coverage that still looks super natural, a very hard combo to come by. I've been super impressed with the formula, and can definitely see why this is a best seller from the natural brand. I love the ingredients it contains (such as avocado oil, aloe vera and vitamin E) and how much coverage it provides, making it a must-have clean concealer for days where I need extra coverage.

Have you guys tried this concealer from Hynt Beauty? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
