Christophe Robin

While I've always been a bit of a skincare nut, it's only in the past year or so that I've really gained a bit of an obsession with haircare. It's a love that is long overdue — as my lifelong friends will tell you, I went through a tomboy phase in my youth where something as simple as brushing my hair was a rarity — but very much welcome, regardless.

One recent addition to my routine has been Christophe Robin, a Parisian haircare brand that comes with drool worthy packaging, scents and ingredients. While I should say upfront that the line is definitely not entirely natural, the products do feature some incredible ingredients such as prickly pear seed oil, apple vinegar and chamomile. For the past month I've been trying out a good portion of the line for myself and, after getting a pretty good idea of how they each perform, I wanted to share a few of my favorites.

Color Fixator Wheat Germ Mask*
While it's been awhile since I've colored my hair, I was pretty interested in trying this guy out for size. With ingredients such as wheat germ and honey, this mask helps to balance the pH of, and repair color-treated locks, all within five minutes. I've now used this several times, running a bit through my dry hair and leaving it on for five minutes before washing out. So far, I haven't seen any visible results, but it does leave my hair feeling pretty nice afterwards. That said, like I mentioned before, I haven't colored my hair in awhile, so chances are this would have better results on someone who more frequently changes their hair.

Purifying Hair Finish Lotion with Sage Vinegar* and Brightening Hair Finish Lotion with Fruit Vinegar*
These vinegar-based finishing sprays are some of the newest additions to the brand. Each one is formulated with an herbal vinegar aimed at a specific task, such as purifying or brightening your hair. I've been trying out both the Purifying Lotion (which contains Sage Vinegar) and the Brightening Lotion (with Fruit Vinegar) and have had pretty decent results with each.

Let's start with the Purifying Hair Finish Lotion, which contains sage vinegar, as well as extracts of thyme, rosemary and lavender. A few spritzes of this are supposed to help remove impurities and also balance the pH of your hair and scalp. I definitely noticed my scalp felt more soothed after using this, which was a huge perk to it. While I did love the results, I wasn't a huge fan of the scent as the vinegar was pretty apparent to me. That being said, I've seen reviews where people raved about the fragrance, so it could very well just be me.

I much preferred the scent of the Brightening Hair Finish Lotion, which combined peach, apricot and apple vinegars to clarify, repair and hydrate your scalp and hair. While I'm a brunette, and thus not the intended consumer for this, I didn't see much visible brightening obviously, but I did really enjoy the light fragrance as well as how shiny it left my hair.

Regenerating Mask with Prickly Pear Seed Oil*
As a massive fan of prickly pear seed oil in skincare, this is perhaps the product I was most excited to try out. The main purpose of this mask is to repair and strengthen hair, while simultaneously giving it shine and smoothness. After using just a bit of this twice weekly for several weeks, I can attest to the fact that it really does leave hair feeling (and looking) fantastic.

Since it is such a concentrated formula, all you need is the tiniest amount run through damp hair to see immediate effects. I usually leave this in for five to ten minutes in the shower before washing it out, and my hair genuinely feels ridiculously soft for days after using. It's been one of my favorite products to add to my hair routine, and I truly feel like my hair has never looked better.

Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt*
While I have a few loves from the line, this one is far and away my favorite. For fans of Lush's Big Shampoo, this is almost like a more grown-up version of that — with ingredients such as sea salt and sweet almond oil, this shampoo clarifies and exfoliates your scalp, leaving it totally refreshed without ever feeling stripped. As someone with an oilier scalp, this gem is truly a godsend, and has left my hair in better condition than ever before.

The paste quickly turns into a lather once rubbed into your hair, which I usually leave on for a few minutes before washing out. Unlike with the Big Shampoo, my hair never gets that "squeaky clean" feeling of being too dry — instead my scalp is just left feeling refreshed and totally clean. That feeling continues long past washing this out too, which is why it's become a weekly part of my routine. It's truly a product I'd recommend to anyone, but especially those whose scalps need a little bit of balance.

Have you guys tried anything from Christophe Robin? I'd love to know your thoughts
