Lilah B. Beauty

First off, I hope everyone who celebrates had a truly great holiday season! It seems like its been quite some time since I posted new content, so I decided there was no better time to change that than the present. I'm actually really excited to write a bit about the gorgeous makeup brand Lilah B., a line that strives to use great ingredients where they can for the best possible products.

I was first drawn to the line by their unique packaging, which almost looks like little white stones when closed. Each palette or product has a top that's easily swung open to reveal the beauty inside, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't just as obsessed with the outside. I know you're not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but in this case I did and it very much paid off.

So the pieces from the line I've been experimenting with are their Palette Perfection Eye Quad*, as well as their Lip & Cheek Divine Duo*. Let's start off with the lip and cheek tint, which right off the bat impressed me with how highly pigmented it is. The shade I've been trying out, b. fearless, is a true red - think Marilyn Monroe, Taylor Swift...it's that classic red we all know. But while the aforementioned blondies might be able to pull this color off with ease, on me it has always had the tendency to look like a kid playing with their mother's makeup. Sounds attractive, no? Well I'm pleased to report that this particular formula has been far and away the most wearable red I've ever tried. As I mentioned before, it's highly pigmented, so even one layer won't go on sheer. However, it is a color that can easily be built up (or kept down) depending on the look you're going for. I most often have worn it with just one layer which, for lack of a better word, creates a more subtle red lip. It's creamy and moisturizing, but also superbly long-lasting, which was a huge plus. I wore this for a night out and luckily didn't need many touch ups (a big positive, considering it would definitely not have been a no-mirror-required fixer). Overall, while I still look rather ridiculous with a bright red lip, this shade has been far and away the best one I've tried thus far.

Then there's the Palette Perfection Eye Quad*, which I have in b.fabulous. As you can maybe tell above, the quad features both dark and nude colors, as well as both matte and shimmer-y options. For only four colors, it's quite the array of choices! The moisturizing powder formula can be used wet or dry, depending on how dramatic you want your look, and its super easy to work with. As you might have guessed, my most used shade by far has been the neutral in the palette, which has a wearable shimmer that adds a hint of shine to my everyday look. I've also been loving the rest of the shades as a subtle liner, on both my upper and lower lash lines. I'm also hoping to try out a smokey eye with the  quad soon, as I think the colors will go wonderfully together.

Now it should be noted that Lilah B. is not entirely natural. Their ingredients are carefully chosen, excluding many of the ingredients that I myself avoid as well (a complete listing of those ingredients can be found here). So while I personally love the brand and am fine with the formulas used, I wanted to be sure I noted this for those that might have slightly stricter standards.

Have you guys tried anything from Lilah B.? I've been seeing it on all kinds of blogs recently, so would love to hear your thoughts!
