New Kids on the Beauty Block: Context and Verb

Listen - as a beauty addict, it's a guarantee that I am willing to try just about anything new. So when I got the chance to try out two brands with some gorgeous formulas, beautiful minimalist packaging and a brand spankin' new name on the market, I jumped at the chance.

Let's start with Verb, a professional hair care line that has tempted me just about every time I've stepped into Sephora in the past couple of months. The brand was created by a group of professional stylists, who sought out to make cruelty-free products that were also free of parabens, sulfates and even gluten. And while all that is well and good, the real question is how does the products perform? I've been trying out several bit from the line, and I'm pleased to say I've been impressed with each one.

My favorites though, by far, have been their amazing Sea Spray*, Dry Shampoo* as well as their  Leave-In Mist*, all hair products that would benefit any hair type in this cold winter weather. The Sea Spray* has  become a part of my daily ritual, adding a bit of tousled volume and shine to my limp locks. The ingredients listing for this one contains some tried and true favorites, such as seabuckthorn extract, green tea extract and quinoa, which work as well for my hair as they do for my skin. The result is healthier hair with volume and texture I would never be able to achieve otherwise. The Leave-In Mist* is more of a conditioning product, perfect for detangling unruly hair. This is one I like to spritz into hair right after the shower, and it always works wonderfully to tame my hair without making it feel weighed down.

Then there's Context, a new skincare brand that has totally swoon-worthy packaging. I've tried out a good chunk of the line so far, and my favorites by far have been their Intensive Daily Moisturizer* and Vitamin C All Day Eye Cream*. My skin has been going through quite the rough (and dry) patch recently, so I was eager to try out these hydrating lotions to really quench my complexion. The Intensive Daily Moisturizer* got my nod of approval right away with its lightweight texture, as well as its addition of SPF 15. The formula also contains some great skin-loving ingredients such as marigold extract, rosehip, aloe, vitamins E and C, giving your skin a boost of nourishing ingredients on top of the moisturizing foundation.

I love wearing it with the Vitamin C All Day Eye Cream*, which contains an equally impressive list of ingredients such as licorice, echinacea, as well as vitamins C and E. Like the moisturizer, this is a lightweight but nourishing cream that absorbs quickly, allowing you to apply makeup soon after without any problem.

Have you guys tried anything from either of these brands before? I'd love to hear what new brands you're loving lately!
