Color Yourself With Gressa

While my skincare addiction is readily displayed on each and every page of this blog, I still have a very special place in my heart for my (also extensive) makeup collection. When I first made the switch to green beauty my biggest concern was not being able to find makeup. There was a time that I shopped my local Sephora frequently enough that they knew me by name (pathetic? Perhaps) so I felt a bit lost without being able to pick up my every makeup need from the beauty mothership. Little did I know that making the switch would actually lead me to makeup that was formulated with better ingredients, but was also just better makeup period. Yup, you heard me right. Maybe it's because of my sensitive skin that just cannot deal with most ingredients found in major makeup brands, but working with green brands has improved my makeup collection tremendously. It has led me to brands that not only have natural formulas but look more natural on my skin, something I think every makeup addict strives for. I cannot tell you how many concealers I have tried in my lifetime before I settled on the RMS Un Cover-Up, the only concealer I've ever stuck with for more than one month at a time.

Anyways I could ramble on and on about all this (clearly), but what it all boils down to is that I have adored the green makeup brands I've discovered in the past year, more than most brands you could typically find in your local Sephora. And perhaps my favorite makeup brand that I've discovered in all my 24 years on this Earth is the gorgeous naturalness that is Gressa Skin. You might remember my past post featuring their makeup and skincare, two categories that actually meld into one when it comes to this beautiful brand. Every product from the brand, whether labelled as skincare or makeup, is packed full of skin-loving ingredients that work tirelessly to better your skin as you wear them. Their bestselling Minimalist Corrective Serum Foundation has made many headlines in the beauty community (both green and non) as a superstar that not only covers your skin superbly while looking completely natural, but also for its ingredients that help to cure skin ailments as you wear it. The foundation is still one of my all time favorites, and I've actually made several repurchases of it over the course of the year because it just works better than anything else.

So I was eagerly anticipating their latest launches, a few color products that I knew I was going to love. First up is their Lip Boost* in the shade Jolie, described as the perfect coral. Their Lip Boosts all host an impressive list of ingredients, featuring such stunners as shea butter, mango butter, vitamin E, CoEnzyme Q10 and sea buckthorn seed oil to name a few. These all lend themselves very well to keeping your lips hydrated throughout the day, along with helping them out over time. And these skin loving bits don't take away from the impressive color payoff of this gem, which melds perfectly with my lips for an impressive orange-y pink coral that makes for a wonderful everyday color. I've loved wearing this during the warm weather, and think it will look just as lovely during the cold weather seasons. It truly is just a fantastic year round color.

The other two products I've been playing with from the brand are an ingenious fusion of an eye, lip and cheek product. It's called their LumiĆ©re Luminous Complexion Fluid* and it's available in two different shades - Elise, which is a beautiful true pink, and Amelia which is an orange-y coral that pairs perfectly with Jolie. I have been more than impressed with these innovative little products, which come as a beautiful fluid in little pump bottles. I've used it for my cheeks, lips and eyes and have been equally in love with the results for all three. The formula for the is actually entirely vegan, consisting of a formula that includes broccoli seed oil, rosehip seed oil, sea buckthorn seed and Radish Root ferment to achieve the color. This combination of gems pays off in allowing the formula to perfectly meld with your skin, leaving you with a natural looking color that will have your complexion simply glowing. What I love so much about Gressa's formulas is the fact that they truly do seem to mesh with your skin (thanks in part to their serum-like formulations) instead of just sitting on top of it like all too many makeup products so. That's the case with these fluids, which work with every skin tone to give your skin a little bit of color that just looks plain natural. I've been using Elise on my cheeks on almost a daily basis, dispensing a tiny amount onto my finger and simply rubbing it onto my cheekbones. I find that the fluid lends itself best to skin-on-skin application, and actually think that using a brush soaks up a bit too much of the fabulous formula for my liking. I cannot emphasize how little I need of this little guy either, and I expect just one bottle of it to last me for quite some time.

Have you had the chance to play around with these gems yet? I would love to hear if any of you guys have had the chance to try out this beautiful brand yet. Let me know in the comments below!
