My April Favorites

Guys, is it seriously May already? Don't get me wrong, every day that we get closer to summer I am one happy person, but I cannot believe how quickly April flew by! But I suppose that means it's time to talk about some of my favorite products from the month, right?

I have become such a skincare hoarder this past year, so I've had to make a concerted effort to try and include some of my makeup favorites in the bunch, but this month's favorites really does have a bit of everything. Let's start with the haircare product that's stolen my heart - I recently wrote about the amazing Cold Spring Apothecary Clarifying Shampoo, a wonderful all-natural option that has been leaving my hair clean, soft and healthier than ever. The combination of Apple Cider Vinegar and Lavender has been wonderful for my sensitive scalp and truly has left my hair (and skin) feeling better than ever. I've found a real keeper with this guy, and I truly couldn't be happier with the natural formulation.

As for makeup, both my favorites are products I've had for awhile that have been making a real comeback in my routine. The Gressa Minimalist Corrective Serum Foundation* (which I have in shade 02) is one that I reviewed a bit ago, but I've recently fallen head over heels in love with it again. As you all might recall, I am a low coverage base girl through and through. I truly hate being able to feel too much foundation on my face, so I've always stuck with low coverage options, even on bad skin days. I was hesitant about this one for awhile because it is so pigmented, but when I blended a few drops onto my face I was blown away. It has a hefty amount of coverage to it, but the oil based formula blends so smoothly and just sinks into your skin like skincare. This phrase is very overused (and I'm definitely a culprit of it) but this guy truly exemplifies "your skin but better". While you might know you're wearing it, it's pretty darn hard to tell (or feel) that you have anything on. As an added bonus, the all-natural formula actually has wonderful skincare benefits that leave your skin looking even better once you've taken the foundation off. Needless to say I'm in love, and look out for a solo review of this gem in the near future.

My second makeup favorite is a cream blush that I cannot rave about enough. Charlotte Tilbury can do no wrong in my book, but her Beach Stick (which I have in the shade Moon Beach) has to be one of my favorites from her line. Moon Beach is a lovely light pink with a bit of a golden hue to it - think a cream version of Orgasm from NARS, and you're left with this little wonder. This shade has not only been perfect for Spring, but I have never found a more blend-able, easy to work with formula than these Beach Sticks. I love that you can use them on the go, and that I can easily just blend it in with my fingers in a pinch.

My skincare favorites are all ones I've mentioned on the blog in the past, but they're all quite incredible and worth a second mention. First up is the NUDE Omega Cleansing Jelly, a very unique cleanser that my skin has been loving. The formula starts off as as sort of a gel, but when combined with water it becomes a soothing, hydrating milk-y formula. The ingredients are all wonderful and it leaves my skin feeling clean without ever feeling stripped. Then there's the Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil, a Retinol-based oil in a gorgeous blue color that has been clearing up my skin without every drying it out (a usual symptom of Retinol formulas). While I've had a tumultuous past relationship with Sunday Riley oils, this one has been a real winner for me and has become a standout of my nightly skincare routine.

Finally there's the incredible S.W. Basics Hibiscus Mask*, an all-natural face mask that looks, smells and works wonderfully. With only three ingredients (Organic Hibiscus Flower Powder, French Green Clay and Organic Lavender Powder) this red powder can be combined with anything from water to yogurt or honey and will leave your skin feeling wonderfully smoothed and soothed. I've been popping it on once a week and love being able to feel it working on my skin. If you haven't already, you can actually enter my giveaway to win this seriously amazing mask - I really think you guys would love it as much as I do!

So how about you all, what have been your favorite products this past month? I'm all ears for any recommendations!
