Gressa Skin: Part One

gressa skin purifying oil, gressa skin balancing cleanser

You might recall that in yesterday's post I shared my love of a few products from Gressa Skin, a brand that has made quite the positive impact on my daily skincare routine. Gressa was started by Svetlana Sanchez with the intention of making an all-natural line that was not effective but also great for your skin. Svetlana used her degree in Biochemistry, as well as her lifelong love of skincare products, to find and use the absolute best materials for her products. She wanted Gressa to be a brand that redefined "green beauty", and with her amazing products I think she has succeeded.

The brand was kind of enough to send over a variety of their products, both skincare and makeup. I decided to split my brand review into two separate posts, looking at their skincare products today with a post on their makeup coming Friday morning (so look out for that).

First up is the Gressa Balancing Cleanser*, an oil combining ingredients such as Rosehip, Jojoba and Castor oils which work together to cleanse and decongest your skin. Now I've used oil-based cleansers in the past, but never one that has removed makeup quite as well as this one. The first time I used this I remember looking at my face and being shocked at how bare and clean it was, in the best possible way. It removed every last speck of waterproof mascara and eyeliner that so many cleansers of the past have missed, leaving behind my face but better. While I sometimes follow this up with another cleanser, it's not for lack of benefits from this one. The Balancing Cleanser really does leave your skin squeaky-clean and hydrated, never with any oily residue.

Next up is another bestselling oil-based product from the brand, the Gressa Purifying Oil*. After a particularly unfortunate experience with Sunday Riley's Juno Oil that led to the breakout of the century, I'll admit that I was a little hesitant to try another facial oil. At the time, my skin was experiencing a little redness, so I started out small by just adding a few drops of this to my Verso Super Facial Serum and eagerly awaited the results. In the morning I awoke to a far less red face, without any additional clogged pores or blemishes that I had been so afraid would arise at the occasion.

With a combination of oils including Rosehip, Jojoba and Macadamia, this concoction really does provide the best of the best. It manages to ease redness, heal scars and blemishes and hydrate your skin like no other - basically a full skincare routine in one small bottle. It's not a heavy oil either, so I've had no problem wearing it underneath my makeup for the day. While I personally do mix it in with my Verso serums (in part so I can savor every last drop), it can certainly be worn on its own both day and night without any problems.

From the reviews I've read online, I'm not alone in loving this guy either. It seems to have stolen the hearts of consumers with every possible skin type there is, all with outstanding results. I already have plans to repurchase both this and the Balancing Cleanser (along with shopping much of the rest of the line - the Dirty Pretty Things Mask is calling my name) because they've both become integral parts of my routine that I don't think I'll be able to live without.

Have you guys tried anything from Gressa before? If so, what products have you tried out? I already have a long shopping list of stuff I can't wait to try!
