All About the Eyes

verso super eye serum, natura bisse the cure sheer eye, sunday riley start over eye cream, indie lee calendula balm, omorovicza gold eye lift

When it comes to skincare, I'll be the first to admit that I have a small huge obsession with eye creams and care products. I've always had pretty decent skin for the most part, so my biggest concern has always been my dark circles and the paper-thin skin underneath my eyes. I've tried far more eye creams than your average 23-year-old and have experienced some real hits and misses. To save you from the disappointments, I wanted to share five of my favorite eye products, highlighting each of their best features.

The Retexturizer: At this point I think my love of the incredible Verso Super Eye Serum is well documented. But I'm just going to sing it's praises once again, because this serum has been truly life changing for me. The Retinol 8-based formula works to totally retexturize your skin and, in my case, has completely plumped up my too-think under eye skin while even brightening up some of the darkness. It's not particularly hydrating (nor is it meant to be) so I always pair it with something else, usually one of my four remaining favorites...

The Healer: I first started using Indie Lee products after discovering them through Beautylish. The line features tons of all-natural, non-toxic skincare products that you can really feel safe using. If that weren't cool enough, I can safely say all of her products work wonders on the skin, and her Indie Lee Calendula Balm is probably my favorite of the line. With ingredients such as beeswax, calendula oil and Mango seed butter, this is truly an all-purpose balm, despite the name. It's incredibly hydrating, and I always wake up in the morning feeling refreshed after slathering it on under my eyes or on any dry spots. I've also found it to be especially gentle for sensitive skin, and when I went through a bit of a skin freakout a few weeks ago this guy was truly my lifesaver.

The Serious Hydrator: While one would think that the basic purpose of eye cream would be to moisturize your under eye, I've actually found that, more often than not, the formulas of eye creams can actually be a bit drying. Perhaps it's because of all the bells and whistles that are added into the formulations (anti-aging, line plumping, etc.) but I've found it quite difficult to come across a option that is truly hydrating to my sensitive, dry skin. Far and away the best option I've found for this problem has been the miracle-working Omorovicza Gold Eye Lift*. Containing skin-loving ingredients such as Vitamins A, C and K (all fierce fighters in the anti-aging game), this guy works to heal, hydrate, restore elasticity and brighten up your under eye. I often apply a layer of this on top of my Verso Super Eye Serum and I am golden (ugh I hate myself for that pun). While this guy is seriously pricey, I can promise that it delivers on its results. Plus, with how rich the formula is, you really only need a pin-size amount. Seriously. I've been using it daily for a few weeks and it still looks brand new to me. I've been so impressed with all of Omorovicza's products, and this is just another gem to add to my favorites list.

The Concealer/Cream Hybrid: Now many of these favorites are strictly for nightly use due to their rich, potent formulas. This concealer/skincare hybrid, on the other hand, is one that I reach for every single morning. I've raved about the Natura Bisse The Cure Sheer Eye  and I can safely say that every compliment I've given it still holds true. A tinted cream, this works to both hydrate and help conceal your under eye. The tint to it is pretty sheer (which makes it great for any and all skin tones) but it really does catch the light in such a way that it gives a truly healthy glow to any and all dark circles. While I usually follow this up with concealer during the winter, in the summer I can actually sometimes get away with using this guy by itself. It's hydrating and leaves my skin glowing...what's not to love? While it's another pricey one, I can guarantee you this guy will last for quite some time. I first bought my current bottle back in May and I still have yet to finish it after daily use since then.

The Multi-purpose: The newest addition of the bunch, the Sunday Riley Start Over Eye Cream is one that was recommended to me on a recent Space NK visit. I was looking for an eye cream that would be hydrating and also help with my dark circles, and the lovely sales associate immediately pointed me in the direction of this one. I had never tried a Sunday Riley product before but have read many a rave review through the blogging community. I picked it up on a whim and, boy, am I ever glad that I did. With ingredients such as Vitamin C, Pomegrante Seed Oil and Alpha Lipoic Acid, this cream works to hydrate, brighten and even slightly retexturize underneath your eyes. While not quite as powerful as the Verso Super Eye Serum, I found that this is a really nice correcting eye cream, and have already seen some very noticeable brightening underneath my eyes since starting to use it. Personally, I don't find this to be the most moisturizing of the bunch here. It's not drying, by any means, but with how quickly it sinks into your skin I would say that it could easily be used as a serum layered underneath a more hydrating option. Either way, with UV protection, this is one that can be used both day and night which I find wonderful. I've found it works well under makeup and actually gives off a pretty healthy glow. After only a few weeks of use, I can already tell you that it's definitely a keeper and one that I will be happily using for quite some time.

  1. Thanks for this, as i'm going off my current eye cream. Might try the Sunday Riley one as i've heard such good things about this brand x

  2. Im definitely going to look into some of these because I still not have found a good eyecream! They always seem to dry the area out and get bumpy! Great Post! Xxx
