Well that might just go down in history as the longest post title ever. I know just about every blogger out there has done a Valentine's Day look by now, so I figured I'd throw my own into the ring. I've never been a huge Valentine's fan - it's a very polarizing holiday that seems to either be met with love or disdain. I don't necessarily mind it, per se, but I do feel like there's too much emphasis on it being the most romantic day of the year. I think it's a holiday you should be able to enjoy single or not, it shouldn't have to be a big to-do.

So this year Jake and I are being fairly low-key and staying in to make our own fondue dinner. The reason behind this is that we're both homebodies at heart, and we like the idea of being able to eat a ton without having to spend a small fortune by going out. Plus melted cheese = love. Anyways, my look for the day is for all my fellow homebodies out there who plan on having a very casual night in, whether it be with a date or friends.

First of all, let me just put it out there that I am the most awkward poser on the planet. I made a resolution in my last post to try and take more pictures of myself but, my goodness, the awkwardness just oozes out of my every poor. I found myself looking like a dead fish in the vast majority of the pictures I took. But anyways, I started off my base with Charlotte Tilbury's amazing priming Wonderglow, followed by a healthy dose of my NARS Radiant Tinted Moisturizer in Terre Neuve, a lovely lightweight base with medium coverage. I then went in and covered any blemishes and my dark circles with the very full coverage NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla.

Next up, I went in and highlighted my cheekbones with some RMS Living Luminizer, the most creamy, natural looking highlighter I've ever come across. I actually used a combination of the Living Luminizer with my Bare Minerals Blush in Sweet Romance to create a luminous, pink eyeshadow that I blended in all over my lid. It was just subtle enough that it's hardly even noticeable in pictures, but added just the right pop of color for my tastes. I finished off my eyes by blending a bit of my Bare Minerals Lasting-Line Eyeliner in Lasting Brown on my upper lashine, helping add just a hint of definition, and then swept a few layers of Charlotte Tilbury Full, Fat Lashes on both my upper and lower lashes. For my brows, I kept them pretty natural, just lightly filling in any bare spots with Charlotte Tilbury Brow Lift's in Brooke S.

For my cheeks I decided to keep the color less pink because of my eyeshadow, and went with my trusty Hourglass Ambient Blush in Mood Exposure. Finally, I finished off the look with my favorite Chantecaille Brilliant Gloss in the shade Classic, a lovely subtle pink that added just a hint of sheen to my lips.
