On My Nightstand

Is it just me, or has this been a particularly gloomy winter? With some recent long work hours, combined with the lack of daylight, I've found myself a lot more tired than usual lately. Some nights I even turn in a bit early, winding down and relaxing in bed with my Kindle Fire and lighting my Diptyque Feu de Bois Candle for a few hours before I go to sleep. Because of this, I now have a little collection of skincare products on my nightstand, ready to be used before bed.

First up is one of the last parts of my nightly skincare routine, my Verso Super Eye Serum. A recent addition to my routine (and one that I'll be further detailing in a upcoming post) this serum is a powerful, but gentle, Retinol treatment that targets dark circles, puffiness and fine lines. I've said in the past that my genetic dark circles reach zombie-like levels during the winter months, and this serum is one of the only things I've found that even makes a slight dent in them. After I let the serum dry down for a few minutes I apply my Indie Lee Calendula Eye Balm , an all-natural balm that is insanely hydrating. It's made specifically for around the eyes, but I've used it on my lips and any other dry, cracked skin and it works miracles.

Another balm that I've been keeping close is Glossier's Balm Dotcom. This thick all-purpose salve can really be used anywhere, but I'm more than a little obsessed in using it on my dry lips. As someone with chronically cracked, dehydrated lips, let me just tell you that I will never be without this again. It is the only thing I've found that keeps my lips hydrated for more than an hour and, in fact, I never feel the need to reapply until several hours into wear. Look out for a post highlighting this (and some other Glossier goodies) in the near future where I will continue my profession of love.

Finally, I give a little pampering love to my hands, using the delectably smelling L'Occitaine Almond Delicious Hands to moisturize my hands before bed. I picked this up for the lovely almond scent (and the adorable packaging) but have found it to be a great way to give a bit of moisture to my dry hands before bed.
