In December, We Wear Metallics
As a self-proclaimed makeup minimalist, it's quite a rarity to find me wearing any sort of eyeshadow other than the nudest of nudes. But there's something about the holiday season (which, for me, starts Thanksgiving Day and continues through New Year's) that makes me feel just a bit more festive. Enter the metallic eyeshadow.
The infamous Urban Decay Naked2 Palette is chock full of a combination of beautiful nudes and sparkly, metallic goodness. Basically, it's a Palette that can take someone like me throughout every day of the year. In the photos above I'm wearing the shade Chopper, a gorgeous bronze-y metallic with a wonderfully pigmented, butter-y formula. Recently I've been favoring this shade along with Booty Call and Half Baked (wonderful names, no?) but am looking forward to experimenting with some of the other shades as the month goes on. The palette is so expansive that there are honestly still some shades I haven't given a try yet!
So I'm officially declaring December as the month of metallics! Right now I'm rocking it on my eyes and nails, but are there any other metallic trends I should be trying out? Let me know in the comments below!

Aw thank you so much! And I'm glad it's supported haha :)
DeleteI lovee the Naked 2 palette! Half baked is my favourite colour :) Looks absolutely gorgeous on you, plus this is definitely the time of year to go all out with glitter!

It is seriously one of the best palettes on earth! Between that and the Naked2 Basics I'm basically set. And thank you so much! I love the shade :)
DeleteLovely eye colour! I love a more nude look too but I think eye metallics work well in nude type shades if you want a more subtle look. I love bronze but not sure how I would feel about silver x

I'm the same way, it's hard to get me to wear anything other than nude shades. But I agree, I think metallics can be pulled off as a bit of a "fancy nude", if that makes any sense!
DeleteLove this make up look!!X

Thank you, and thanks so much for stopping by and reading!
DeleteVery pretty, I've always wanted to get that palette. I haven't been using metallics but since it's the theme of the month, I must buy some. Any excuse to buy right? :D

Haha exactly! That's always how I justify purchases :) Honestly though, this is my personal favorite of the three palettes, and I have gotten tons of use out of it. Certainly enough to justify the price tag!
DeleteI've been toying with buying this pallette for ages but I think I might just go for it. The colours look beautiful on you! Lucy, www.aspectatorsport.com xx
ReplyDeleteDo it!! Haha I'm always a shopping enabler when it comes to makeup. But it really is fantastic and, I'm biased, but I think it's the best of the three. And thank you so much!!
