Weekly Favorites #11

I've got a lot of repeats in my weekly favorites this week, but for good reason. These are products that have all become part of my daily routine, especially during these past few weeks, and they're all essentials that I could not live my (beauty) life without.

First up is TheBalm's BalmShelter Tinted Moisturizer. I know I talk about a new favorite TM in just about every post, but this guy has really been one that's gone above and beyond the call of duty. I'll admit that in recent months I've gotten a bit "snobby" with my beauty purchases, and started falling under the belief that the more you pay for a product the better quality you receive. This offering from TheBalm is by no means a drugstore purchase (it retails for around $25, though I bought mine through HauteLook for a bargain at $10) but it's a far cry from some more overpriced options (I'm looking at you Chantecaille...I love you, though!). This TM has it all - it's incredibly natural looking while still giving you an even skin tone and a healthy glow. While I still use other bases in my rotation, more and more I've been favoring this one for how nice it's been making my skin look. Just a great all-around TM that I haven't been able to get enough of.

Another base favorite has been my very much loved concealer/highlighter hybrid, By Terry's Touche Veloutee. I've probably written about this countless times by now, but I truly love it more now than the day I got it. I have some pretty serious dark circles, so this doesn't provide enough coverage to fully conceal them, but it gives me just enough coverage and illumination that my eyes look more awake and brightened. Plus, the formula is a very thin liquid that neither settles into fine lines nor looks cake-y (two major pet peeves of mine, when it comes to concealer). I own it in the shade Cream, and it's been the perfect shade for year-round use.

As always, there have to be some Lush products in my weekly favorites! This week, those favorites are the amazing Vanilla Puff Powder and their Liquid Lipstick in Believe. The Vanilla Puff Powder is in my favorite scent, the Vanillary fragrance from Lush. The powder is multi-use, and can be used for everything from dry shampoo to softening your skin. I use it every day and have barely made a dent in it, which for the price of $7 a bottle is not a bad deal! I've written about the Liquid Lipstick several times before, and I am still loving it in the shade Believe! It's so pigmented, and can be used as both a lip and cheek stain. I've personally been diluting it with some chapstick on my lips, making the color a little less intense. It lasts forever on your lips, and you need such a small amount that I feel like this bottle could easily last me the year until it expires. I really need to pick up some more shades of this guy, because I have just been so blown away by the amazing formula.

  1. I've never heard of The Balm products before, but you have now gotten me very intrigued about them!!! what kind of coverage do you find the tinted moisturizer gives you??

    1. They're really great, I've loved everything I've ever tried from them. I would probably describe the coverage as light, to light-medium if that makes sense? It's definitely lighter coverage, but it is buildable!

  2. Super informative post! Thank you!

    1. Thanks so much, and thank you for stopping by and reading! :)
