My Makeup Bag & Me #2: Beach Holiday

I'm going to the beach! I am so psyched to be leaving this Saturday for a week of sun and fun at the Jersey shore (which, for me at least, is an experience that couldn't be more different from Snooki and J-Woww's). My family is lucky enough to be able to use my grandparent's beach house every summer, and it's always one of the highlights of my year. I love spending my days by the ocean, biking and hanging out on the boardwalk. Oh, and the food. Everything is fried, sugared and disgustingly unhealthy, which obviously means it tastes incredible.

Anyways, spending all that time in the sun it would be silly of me to wear a whole face of makeup but, me being me, I'm going to pack a ton of options anyways. Most days I plan on wearing minimal to no makeup, but I still like to add a few things for special occasions. 'Cause you never know what's going to happen at the Jersey shore (I kid, I'm with my family, the extent of the crazy is a glass of wine before bed at 9).

So let's get started with this overflowing makeup bag I've packed, shall we? For my base, most days I will be using my Supergoop Everyday Sunscreen SPF 30 and just stopping at that. It's an oil-free sunscreen that can be used on your face and body, and it's hands down one of the best sunscreens I've ever used. On the rare occasion I want a little more color during the day, I'll be switching it up between my Origins Vitazing, Natura Bisse The Cure Sheer Cream or The Balm BalmShelter Tinted Moisturizer. These are all sheer options with SPF, and they look completely natural and lovely, especially when applied with the incredible Real Techniques Buffing Brush. Aside from a very sheer base (which I might set with the The Balm Sexy Mama Anti-Shine Translucent Powder or Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray), I'll use the Natura Bisse The Cure Sheer Eye as an eye cream to provide a little SPF for underneath my eyes, but that's about it.

Considering I plan on wearing little to no makeup during the day, you can tell by the ridiculously big makeup bag that I might possibly be overpacking just a bit. Everything else I've packed is for those "special occasions" (aka I just always want to prepare for any and all situations). If I want a little more of a base with a hint more coverage, I'll use the Diorskin Nude BB Creme and then conceal underneath my eyes with my handy By Terry Touche Veloutee. After that I'll add a little color with the amazing The Balm Bahama Mama Bronzer (which I apply with the Real Techniques Contour Brush) as well as my much-loved Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Natural Beauty. For my eyes I'll use a little bit of a nude color with my handy-dandy Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette, and finish off with the Tarte Lights, Camera Splashes! Waterproof Mascara.

For my eyebrows I use the amazing Sonia Kashuk Tinted Brow Gel, and then I'll finish off my look with my favorite gloss, the Chantecaille Brilliant Lip Gloss in Flirt. So yeah, obviously I'm prepared for any and all activities that could possibly arise at the beach!
