A Mini Lush Haul

I'm on vacation, so I'm going to be totally honest and say that most of my money has gone to delicious food versus any beauty purchases. Gasp, I know! My one exception to that has been a recent (mini) Lush haul. I mean, I passed by a Lush while visiting Atlantic City, so obviously I had to pick up a few things that had been on my shopping list. After all, Lush is hands down one of my favorite beauty stores ever. To say that working there would be my dream job would be a complete understatement - I would adore working at Lush. I love every product I've ever tried from the store, and the fact that everything is cruelty-free (often even vegan!) makes me one happy customer, and an overall huge fan of the brand.

Anyways, onto my purchases! I originally went in with the sole intention of picking up their Stepping Stone Foot Scrub, a lovely lemon, lime and sea salt concoction that works to scrub dead skin cells and calluses of your feet. After days spent trekking through the sand (I know, I know, cry me a river, right?) I've found my feet to be ridiculously dry and hardened. After just one use, this guy immediately left my feet feeling a little bit softer and soothed. One downside to the formula is that it's definitely a little bit crumble-y to use, but the amazing fragrance and benefits more than make up for it.

I also picked up the Ambrosia Shaving Cream, which has been a genuine godsend for my bathing suit body. This shaving cream leaves your skin soft and soothed after shaving, and promises no awful red bumps or irritation. In fact, this cream can even be used without water! I usually have a very hard time avoiding irritation with shaving, and the red bumps that pop up all over my legs can be especially embarrassing during the summer. The Ambrosia Cream has left my legs softer and less irritated than ever before, and I can already tell that it will be a future repurchase.

Finally, I picked up the Big Solid Conditioner. I believe that in my last Lush Haul post I mentioned that I had tried a sample of the Big Shampoo and loved it, but that I had picked up the similar Seanik Shampoo Bar to try out instead. Anyways, I fell in love with the Seanik Bar and decided that a solid conditioner sounded like an interesting concept to try out. Now, while the solid shampoos foam up easily and take just a few rubs through your hair to get the job done, the solid conditioner has taken a lot of trial and error to use. At first I attempted to just run it through my hair, but the soft, squishy consistency did not lend well to this. I then tried to rub it through my hands a few times to get a bit on my fingers, but that didn't work well either.

Finally, after reading some reviews of the product on the Lush website, I learned that the best way to apply this is to break a teeny tiny bit of the bar off and melt it in your hands, then run it through your hair. At first it might not feel like you're applying enough, but once you wash it out you can immediately feel the benefits of it. The coconut oil and sea salt combination leave your hair feeling soft and light as air, and I am completely in love. I'm still having a little trouble finding a way to store this (unfortunately they have no conditioner tin like they have a shampoo tin), but as for the results I truly couldn't be happier. My hair is noticeably more shiny and hydrated, and all without feeling the least bit oily. It's absolute perfection combined with my Seanik Bar, as well!

Overall, a great little Lush haul (not that there could ever be a bad haul from Lush!). The one downside is that my trip to the store has only made my wishlist of their products grow, and now I have a ton more that I'm dying to buy! Luckily for me, the sales staff is amazing and they sent me home with loads of samples to try out.
