A Few New Additions...#1

Rarely does a week seem to go by where I don't pick up a few new additions for my beauty stash. That's probably not terribly healthy, but the first step to an addiction is admitting it, right? (ha, as if I have any plans to stop!) Anyways, this week features a few awesome products that I bought on a recent trip to New York City, after indulging myself in some shopping after a nerve-wracking job interview.

I ended up wandering around a bit after my interview, and just so happened to come across the new Lush store on Lexington Avenue. Even though I had recently bought the whole store several items from the brand, I decided to peek in and (of course) ended up grabbing a few more lovely bits. At first I was pretty set on picking up the Lush Big Shampoo, but after uhm-ing and ah-ing about whether the price was worth it, the sales associate suggested I try out the Lush Seanik Shampoo Bar, another shampoo with similar features but at a fraction of the cost. I had never tried a Shampoo Bar before, but I gotta say that I've been loving it! It leaves my hair feeling incredibly clean and volumized, as well as smelling absolutely heavenly. Apparently the little bar is also supposed to last for 60+ uses, which is quite a bargain when you think about it!

Another Lush hair product I brought home was the Lush American Cream Conditioner, a product that I can honestly say I picked up for the scent alone. The vanilla and strawberry notes combine into a heavenly scent that leaves my hair soft and smelling wonderful for hours. I usually would question the notion of having one's hair smell like a strawberry shortcake, but in this case I say yes please!

Finally, I added to my collection of Vanillary scented products with the Lush Vanilla Puff Powder. I originally planned on buying the Lush Vanilla Dee-Lite Body Lotion, but at $26/bottle I was a little unsure. The same associate who showed me the Seanik Shampoo Bar recommended this dusting powder after hearing I loved Vanillary, and I'm glad she did! I've never used a powder on my skin before, but was pleasantly surprised at how soft and wonderful this left my skin. Plus the scent is obviously divine!

After my Lush expedition I ventured out to find the nearest Sephora. I went in with the purpose of buying a waterproof mascara, and while I did successfully purchase one (the Tarte Lights, Camera,  Splashes Waterproof Mascara which is lovely!) I obviously ended up buying a little something else. That something is the much raved about Diorskin Nude BB Creme. As the lover of tinted moisturizers and BB Creams that I am, I had always wanted to try this, but could never have imagined it would be so love-at-first-use as it was. I fell head over heels for the glowing, neither-dewy-nor-matte finish that this provides your skin. It adds just the right amount of color and hydration, as well as a commendable level of coverage that has proved to be quite buildable. Overall it's a definite winner that will hold a prime spot in my base collection!

    1. It really is, I adore it! It's the first waterproof mascara I've ever tried that doesn't leave my lashes clumpy and stiff, and I couldn't be happier! Thanks so much for stopping by and reading :)
