The Body Shop Haul

Recently The Body Shop was having a 40% Off Everything sale, and so I decided to take advantage and get a few items that have been on my shopping list for awhile. I'll be honest, I've used some of their products in the past and only found them to be so-so, but after reading some rave reviews of a few of these guys on some of my favorite blogs I decided to buy them and give them a go. I've only been testing these out the past few days, so I won't be able to give a full review until later on, but here are my first impressions after several days' use.

Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion - This is one of the products that I picked up in my shopping frenzy, what with the 40% off sale going on. I was fully expecting to return it after my spending craze had gone down, but after using this the past few nights I can already tell that I will be repurchasing this once I run out! This lotion contains tea tree oil, which is supposed to help heal acne blemishes and soothe the skin. The formula of the lotion dries down to a gel-like finish, which makes it perfect for people with more oily skin. That being said, I have drier skin and and found that this worked perfectly for me as well, so it's quite a versatile product. Not only have I been using this at night, but I also find that it works during the day. While my blemish scars have not completely disappeared, within a day of use the redness has substantially subsided enough that I can say I'm very impressed. The only possible negative I have to say about this product is that it is quite pungent, and I am not a fan of the smell. However, it disappears after a few minutes so nothing that I can't deal with. Overall this was one of the standout products of the bunch and I cannot rave enough about it.

Honey Bronze Bronzing Gel for Face - Again, this was a bit of a purchase I made on a whim. I've been on the look out for any products that could add just a bit of color to my face (which, because of my skincare routine, is always a few shades lighter than the rest of my body), and after reading about this on a few blogs I decided to try it out. At 40% off it was only like $8, so I couldn't not try it. My first thought when I squeezed a bit out of the bottle was how ridiculously dark it was - I was absolutely certain that it was going to turn my face orange. To play it safe, I ended up combing a drop of this with my facial moisturizer which turned out to be the perfect solution. I really think that alone this stuff is a bit too potent to look natural, but when it's cut down by some moisturizer it ends up drying down to the perfect color for me. I'll have to try this out for a bit longer to comment on any longer term effects, however for now I'm definitely enjoying this. One definite perk that sets it apart from other tanners I've used is there isn't too much of that awful tanning smell. Don't get me wrong, there's definitely a hint of it, but it dissipates before long luckily.

Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil - This product is actually the original reason for my shopping, after reading some rave reviews about it from Kate over at Gh0st Parties. I'll admit that I've never used a cleansing oil before (gasp!) so I don't have much of anything to compare this to. That being said, my experience with this so far has been nothing short of amazing. Just a few drops of this oil completely breaks down any makeup you're wearing (even waterproof mascara, from my experience) and leaves your skin feeling smooth, hydrated and completely soothed from the lovely camomile ingredients. This product has been a total game changer for me, and I can say after only a few days of use that this has completely changed by skincare routine for the better. If you take anything from this post, I must recommend that you look into this product because it is just that good.

Aloe Vera Eye Defense - I'm always looking for a great eye cream because of my insanely dark circles, and this one stood out to me because it's supposed to be soothing for the delicate eye area. There are supposed to be some longer term effects with this one as well, which I obviously cannot comment on right now, but what I can say is this stuff definitely is nice and soothing to my eyes. It hydrates the area around my eyes and dries down quickly which makes it perfect for pre-makeup application. I've been wearing this both day and night and loving it so far, so I'm excited to see how it works out over the next few weeks!

Vitamin E Overnight Serum Oil -Out of all the products, this is the one I've experimented with the least. I think this is definitely one that I would need to try out for awhile, because I think it has more long term benefits than anything that would be noticed after just one night. The formula goes on very similarly to the Tarte Marajuca Oil, and from my experience it also had a lot of the same benefits. I woke up with lovely, baby soft skin that was perfectly hydrated after using this, which are some awesome effects. This product is definitely one I will try and do a more extensive review on in the future, when I have more to share about it.

  1. Such a good Haul, I love Body Shop products-literally I'm going to order the same things online now :) xx

    1. Ah I hope you like them!! I don't really have any Body Shop stores around me, so I kind of stopped using their products for awhile because of that. But after trying these amazing products I would imagine this is going to just be the first of many future Body Shop hauls! Thanks for reading, and hope you enjoy the products!! :)
