As
you can see in the above image, my regular hair is straight and, let's
be honest, pretty boring. Most days I choose to curl or wave my hair to
give it a little bit of volume and add some dimension, as I have a
fairly thin and long face. I've been using a regular, old generic
curling iron for years, but after reading a million and one reviews for
the Conair Infiniti Pro Curl Secret, I decided to give it a go.
The Pro Curl website has a demonstration of exactly
how it works, and you can find a ton of tutorials on YouTube as well.
Basically, though, it's a mechanism that you put a strand of hair into,
it sucks it into the "curl chamber", then you wait for it to beep and
you've got yourself a perfect curl! Some cool features it has are a
temperature and timing setting, which helps determine the tightness of
the curl. You have the options of High or Low heat, and a timer with
options of 8, 10 or 12 seconds. The higher the heat and time the tighter
of a curl you will get, while with a lower heat and time gives you the
option of having more of a wavy style.
It's pretty hard to mess up with this product, and
it's really a fun, effortless way to get some curly locks quick. A few
things that can be a pain are that you can only put a certain size
strand of hair in to be curled, and the fact that you can only curl your
hair in one direction. If you put too much hair in, or non-brushed
tangled hair, the Curl Secret will beep and spit your hair back out. It
can be a bit of a hassle, but at least it's not going to let my hair get
stuck in there!
As for the curl direction, I sometimes just leave a
few strands undone and use a regular curling iron on them for some
variety. If you really want something like the Curl Secret that also has
the option to change directions, there is the more expensive option of
the Babyliss MiraCurl.
It's an expensive upgrade, btu it has the same basic concept of the
Curl Secret with more specific temperature options as well as the option
to change the curl's direction.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Curl Secret.
Even after reading all the great reviews, I didn't think I would love it
just as much as I do. It's become a daily essential, and one that I
would recommend to anyone that wants effortless, gorgeous curls.
